WHY ARE WE ASKING FOR DONATIONS?
Many clubs have had to jump through hoops to stay open since the 2019 introduction of onerous firearms regulations.
Auckland Shooting Club was one such club shut down earlier this year on a "resource consent" technicality.
This is part of a six-year ongoing battle with anti-firearms elements which has seen the clubs Code of Compliance, upheld by the High Court, and then overturned on a technicality by the appeals court - the club was allowed to continue operating but had pistol certifications withdrawn, which makes no sense.ASC has already raised $120,000, and among other activities, are reaching out to the licenced firearms owners community to raise a further $60,000. (Towards completing the Resource Consent process.) We are now, at the public hearing stage of the process.
YOUR CLUB COULD BE NEXT! The infrastructure used for this fundraiser (plus any unused funds) will be made available to help other clubs with consent issues, once this project is completed.
ANY DONATION NO MATTER HOW SMALL WILL HELP.
Help fight discrimination against Licenced Firearms Owners
Hunters must sight in their firearms and practice to ensure humane hunting practices.
Ranges are where safe use of firearms is taught to every generation
Experienced Licenced firearms owners give their time to teach safe handling to new shooters
We all need ranges to improve our skills, even Olympians
Shooting is a legitimate sport regardless of what Auckland Council think and should be treated like others
We are everyday New Zealanders
We are no different from Shotput Javelin or Discus Athletes we just use more modern tools
Many of us feed our families or other peoples by hunting
We love our beautiful country and want to protect our environment
